Prom During a Pandemic is a realistic fictional story about a senior that is excited about her last chance to go to prom. The story takes place in March 2020, when COVID-19 started to become a global pandemic.

It is the beginning of March 2020. She is getting ready for prom day with her family. She is really excited.

Her family gathers together to see her prom dress. "You look beautiful" they say.

"Thank you" she replies. "I can't wait till it's time to go to prom! This is my first time going to prom, and as a senior, I don't want to miss it."

Towards the end of March, her family sits in the living room without her to have a conversation. "Well we have to tell her that she shouldn't look forward to prom. It's most likely going to be canceled." Her family member on the left exclaims to the others. "But she was excited to go..." Her family member on the right says.

"All schools have been closed down for the rest of the school year. Many events have been canceled..." She listens to the news channel. She can't believe it, prom? canceled?

She sits in the most quiet dark place she could find, her bathroom. She is taking time to mourn her lost high school experiences.

She finds another way to mourn, pretend to be at prom. She puts on some lights that make her feel at prom. This is her process of grief.

She cries herself to sleep at night. "Could this get any worse! I can't go to prom and now I won't have a graduation." This series is in respect to the people of Class of 2020 that had they're memories taken from them.
